LaDawn Evans specializes in helping individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma or life turmoil. Her heartbeat is to help you along the path to restoration and growth! She believes that we are all gifted with the attributes to reach your dreams and goals and counts it a joy to supply her patients with tools to unearth those resources. LaDawn received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Cornerstone University and Master of Arts in Counseling from Spring Arbor University. She has served as a life coach for 15+ years, providing counseling and life coaching services to adolescents, adults, couples and families.

DAN SCHMIDT

Dan Schmidt LLPC is a licensed counselor who believes that every person is uniquely and wonderfully created by God. In our uniqueness we can sometimes get stuck. He is passionate about walking with individuals as they work to get unstuck, find healing, and find their path to living a fuller life. Dan has also served as a pastor and a prison ministry chaplain. Through pastoral care he has spent considerable time walking with couples as they work through various concerns. He has also spent much of his chaplaincy working with men struggling with addiction, identity issues, and faith issues. Dan has led marriage enrichment groups, spiritual enrichment groups, and addiction groups. As a parent of a child with special needs, Dan also has a heart and understanding for the unique struggles parents and families face when caring for a family member who has special needs. Whether your struggle be anxiety, depression, grief, addictions, or marriage, Dan is committed to working with you to achieve your goals in finding hope and healing.

Michelle McRill is passionate about empowering individuals to grow more into their authentic selves. Life is messy and filled with challenges and difficulties making it hard to know how to move forward sometimes. Whether you’re struggling with depression or anxiety, feeling stuck in the stage of life you are in, or experiencing relationship difficulties, Michelle is ready and willing to walk alongside you. She grew up in Grand Rapids, MI, and received her degree in counseling from Cornerstone University. Michelle is married to Kyle, and they enjoy spending time adventuring together, renovating their home or catching the sunset at the beach when the weather allows.


SARAH FRITZ

Sarah earned an MA in Professional Counseling with high distinction from Liberty University which included additional coursework in addictions, healthy sexuality, counseling adolescents and crisis therapy. Her goal in counseling is to provide an avenue for healing, to come alongside those who struggle, and help clients to life their best life. She works with individuals, children, couples, and family units within the behavioral health venue with a faith-based approach that is health-focused and individual-specific, beginning with a strengths-based assessment. Motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and other therapies are utilized with a focus on finding workable solutions that are sustainable for a lifetime.

CHRISTOPHER SMITH

Christopher Smith has a career of nearly 30 years of service in the public, nonprofit and academic sectors. He currently serves as a professor in the social work department at Ferris State University. Prior to this post, Christopher was the deputy director of programs for Network180, the behavioral healthcare authority for Kent County. In this capacity, he oversaw the delivery of behavioral health services (mental illness, substance abuse, developmental disabilities) to the citizens of Kent County. Christopher holds master’s degrees in public administration and social work from Wayne State University, as well as a baccalaureate degree from Michigan State University. Christopher is married to Kelli and has two children, Kaja and Koda.

Jen Romine has been a marriage and family counselor since 2012. She has a Master of Biblical Counseling degree and is an ordained pastor in the Wesleyan denomination. Jen believes that God created us and knows best how we were designed to relate to others and live to our fullest potential. Therefore, she uses principles from the Bible to bring health into the lives of individuals and couples. Jen has been counseling individuals and families for over eight years. Jen is married with three children and enjoys traveling, serving and has a heart for the under-resourced.

She would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey towards health and resilience and towards a life that is meaningful and fulfilling to you. Kirsten received her Masters in Counseling from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. She is married with four children and enjoys spending time with family and friends, loves coffee, cooking, music, and learning.

Julia Williams, LPC is a marriage counseling expert at Great Lakes Wellness Counseling. She’s passionate about helping couples find peace, communicate better and feel loved again. She has  a BA in Behavioral Psychology, a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and  a doctoral degree (PhD) in Biblical Counseling from the International Theological Seminary. Although her main focus is marriage counseling and couples counseling , she also does Christian counseling, helps teens, women, and clients seeking help with anxiety and depression. She is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy for mental health problems. As a DBT counselor she helps those who have difficulty with emotional regulation or those who are exhibiting self-destructive behaviors. She is also a  certified Grief therapist, and a certified trauma counselor.
Work experiences include psychiatric in-patient, outpatient, residential settings and  home-based therapy services.When she’s not working, Julia  enjoys spending time with her  husband, family and friends. She enjoys going to plays and listening to live jazz music.
