1) Cultural Engagement

_{We are making Him known in diverse cultural settings where people may not look, live, think or believe just like us. This means more than just doing, it includes listening, learning and building long term intentional relationships.}

_{As a member of this team you will be Intentionally engaging with and building community with your Muslim neighbors right here in Kentwood. This will take place initially through serving Friday dinners at the Friendship Center and engaging in conversation, but will transform into whatever the Holy Spirit may have in store for you.}

2) School Engagement

_{We are making Him known by supporting and serving the critical needs of our local schools. We want to serve the students, staff, and families of our schools in whatever area is determined to be most essential. What better way to let our light shine than to impact the lives of the next generation and those that play such an important role in their development.}

_{"At Kids Hope USA, we believe that all kids matter to Jesus and that the local church is uniquely called to care for children in their community who would benefit from another caring, reliable relationship."  Make a difference and  mentor one-on-one, for one-hour per week, with a local elementary student who has been identified by the school as having a high need.}  

JOIN OUR TEAM

_{Hand2Hand delivers food to students in need over the weekends and on extended school breaks. As a member of this team you would have the opportunity to order, pick up, pack, or help deliver the food bags directly into the students locker while engaging with and encouraging the teachers and staff of the school. If you are interested in learning more about joining this team please fill out your information below and our H2H Coordinator will contact you as soon as possible.}

3) Neighborhood Engagement

_{We are making Him known by engaging those who are truly our geographic neighbors. There are many people who are searching for the truth of Christ. We want to partner with those that God is already using to serve our closest neighbors as well as engaging through our own Church outreach opportunities.  How can we serve others around the world if we are not willing to serve those around the block?}

_{We want to be intentional about proclaiming the the Gospel to our neighbors. This evangelism team will go door-to-door in the local area to invite families to church, pray, offer up an act of service, or give out a small treat and a smile.}

_{We cultivate fresh produce deeper relationships. Our goal is to grow enough produce to provide our Open Table ministry with fresh vegetables and bless our local community. Get engaged in this grass roots outreach!}

_{We believe that safe adults and safe environments can change the trajectory of a child’s life. The KCC Woodfield team is a great volunteer  opportunity to engage with urban youth a few hours each week.}

_{We continually work to plant the seeds of positive change in our neighborhood by combining resources and creating programs that specifically target the needs of our community.}

4) Community Engagement

_{We are making Him known  in the greater Kentwood Community. We want to partner and build relationships with other ministries and organizations that serve the needs of the Kentwood community as well as provide events that allow us to shine Christ light to the whole Kentwood Community.}

_{Transforming lives and communities in the name of Christ. This is what Love Inc is all about. This happens through uniting area churches, building authentic relationships, and mobilizing resources to serve the local community. Kentwood Community Church is a proud sponsor of Love INC South Kent County and wants to see our church family engage in this community outreach. 5) Social Engagement

_{We are making Him known by seeking God’s justice for those who are underserved and overlooked in our local communities and around the world. As a Church family we want to discern what it looks like to truly be a voice for the voiceless and to offer compassion and kindness to the afflicted.  This already includes ministry to the captive, orphan, and widow, but we are praying that God will open up doors for us to live out His heart of justice in other tangible ways.}

Juvenile Detention Center

_{The Kent County Juvenile Detention Center is a secure residential facility designed to provide pre and post disposition, short-term care, and custody for juveniles who cannot be placed in a less restrictive setting.  Be a part of a team that encourages and uplifts young adults!}

SHOW YOUR INTEREST

_{Every day, children in our community suffer because their families are in crisis and community resources are often overwhelmed. Families of Promise Care Team volunteers can personally connect with the needs of vulnerable children and families in our community. These connections help meet tangible needs and open the door to relationships that provide hope and transformation.}
