Galatians: A Life of Freedom - Chapter 2

What does it truly mean to live by grace? In Galatians 2, Paul confronts a moment that cuts to the heart of the gospel itself. When Peter withdraws from eating with Gentile believers out of fear of criticism, Paul does not stay silent. The stakes are too high. The gospel of salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone is not something that can be compromised even slightly without becoming something else entirely. We explore what happens when the truth we profess on Sunday does not match the life we live on Monday, and why that gap matters so deeply. Peter's failure reminds us that if it can happen to him, it can happen to any of us. But the same grace that Paul refuses to surrender an inch of ground on is the very grace that restores Peter. There is no performance required, no worthiness to earn. The great exchange has already taken place. Christ took our sin and gave us His righteousness. That is the gospel, and it is meant to be the air we breathe every single day, not just a threshold we crossed at the moment of salvation.
